A week of phygital sports and esports competitions has started across higher educational institutions in Turkmenistan. The event is dedicated to the International Day of Neutrality and is held with the support of the Ministry of Education and the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports.
The competitions are organized by the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports. Participants will compete for victory in disciplines that combine traditional and digital formats: phygital football, basketball, table tennis, chess, and esports.
As the institute reports, the tournament winners will represent Turkmenistan at the international Games of the Future in the UAE in 2025.
The final stage of the competition and the award ceremony will take place on December 7, 2024.
Phygital sports and esports are gaining popularity in Turkmenistan. The first international multi-sport tournament, Games of the Future, which combines these fields, was held in Kazan in 2024. Its total prize pool reached $10 million.
